Light, Texture, and the Poetry of Space

The design draws inspiration from the timeless relationship between reader and environment. Warm timber wraps the interior like the pages of a well-loved book, while textured plaster walls evoke the quiet stillness of a private study. Every surface was selected for its sensory quality –how it catches light, absorbs sound, and invites touch.

The spatial sequence unfolds as a narrative: visitors enter through a compressed vestibule before the ceiling soars upward, revealing the grand reading hall. Mezzanine walkways create layers of visual interest, and carefully positioned skylights cast shifting patterns that mark the passage of time –a reminder that reading, like architecture, is an experience rooted in duration.
